The suckers are in thick right now! We went to a local brook in search of trout and found a few but we found a bunch of these buggers!

Catching Fish With My Barehands

So fishing a little stream friday night I came across a rainbow that wasn't doing so hot, we decided to try to catch it with our barehands, we cornered it and I snagged it. It turns out it had some sort of gross flesh eating disease, needless to say it didnt go back in to the stream.

Salmon River Trip Review

Well we had one heck of a trip up to the Salmon River this year. The group caught 30 fish, 28 steelhead and 2 browns in two half days and 2 full days of fishing. Everyone caught fish around 15 pounds and everyone had multi fish days. Two of us had a five fish or better on Saturday which was our best day by far, 16 fish total.

My dads first steelhead!

First Day Salmon River

Today we got up at 2:30 to head up to Altmar with Dylan and our dads. We started fishing around 11, We landed the first steelhead before noon! And it was on a spey, This was my first fish on a two handed rod and my first fish on a spey rod.


Dylan also caught a nice steelhead bigger than mine on his two handed rod.

This is my dads first trip to the Salmon River and he hooked up three times and lost them all, One was a really large fish.

Opening Day 2012

Fishing season officially started today in Maine. We had been fishing lakes and ponds that are open all year long before today. But today we got to fish a stream that was closed until open season. Here are some pics from today.
